WHS gets into the homecoming spirit

WHS’s homecoming week is coming up, and students are excited and ready to be spirited during this fun-themed week. The theme for homecoming is Disney.

The week consists of spirit days everyday; the homecoming game is on Fri. 19 at 7 p.m., and the homecoming dance is on Sat. 20 from 7 to 11 p.m.

Monday is the homecoming rally where students will dress in their school colors. In addition, each class is themed to a “land” that is in Disneyland. Seniors wear black for Fantasyland, juniors wear white for Tomorrowland, sophomores wear blue for Toontown and freshmen wear orange for Frontierland. The rally will consist of performances by dance team and cheer, announcements of homecoming court and another Grand Prize winner for Fan Club.

Tuesday is Tourist Day, so students and staff should wear tropical attire. Hawaiian shirts, tropical clothing and fanny packs are ideal as WHS should show up in colorful clothing.

Disney day is on Wednesday, so wearing any type of clothing associated with Disney would be appropriate.

Thursday is Monsters University themed, so people should wear their college attire.

The homecoming game is on Friday, and the theme is blackout. There will be a tailgate at 6 p.m. with pizza and games to hype students for the game. During halftime, the winners for homecoming court seniors will be announced as they ride down the track in high-end cars. Dance team and cheer will also perform and there will be a firework show.

Saturday night concludes homecoming week with the dance and there will be Shave It for sale.

After the Homecoming game, there will be a fundraiser for journalism for students who decide to go to BJ’s post game to enjoy a meal or a pizookie.
